Each charcoal disc burns for approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on airflow and conditions. This gives you plenty of time to enjoy multiple rounds of frankincense throughout a single session.
Yes, these are quick-light charcoal discs. They ignite easily with a standard lighter or match and reach full heat within 1-2 minutes. You'll see them spark and crackle as they light—this is completely normal!
There will be some smoke during the initial lighting phase (first 30-60 seconds) as the disc ignites. Once the disc turns grey/white with ash, the smoke reduces significantly. Always use in a well-ventilated area.
Our charcoal discs have minimal odor. You may notice a slight charcoal smell during lighting, but once the frankincense is added, the resin's aroma completely dominates. High-quality charcoal should never have a strong chemical smell.
These discs are specifically designed for burning incense resins (frankincense, myrrh, copal, etc.). For hookah/shisha, we recommend using charcoal specifically made for that purpose.
